  1. I am pretty sure it wasn't him. Tom actually works in the same building as I do and lives in Centreville which is between where I was at and work.
  2. I passed one on the way to work this morning at about 5:45, looked to be grey in the darkeness but could have been any color. It sure looked nice and since there are only a few in the whole mid-atlantic I was shocked to see one I didn't know. I was driving the loud white Impreza.
  3. That blows. My local store is staffed by really decent guys. We were joking about how they would have add them to their regular stock replenishment.
  4. Those would look GREAT stripped and powder coated in white.
  5. I get mine from Autozone and they have a lifetime warranty. So when they get nuked I can go get another for free. Naturally even under the current conditions: harsh angle from 2 in. suspension lift, 160Hp increase over stock, oversize tires, and a lead foot on and off road, I have yet to break one. I suppose either way I win. $69 front and $79 rear.
  6. I think it is clear they have no idea what an ECVT is. A bigger Van-Thorn belt and pullys w/actuators would be the only way. I bet they believe it is just another ECU controlled auto tranny.
  7. The gasdoor is already gone and one side is almost done. The BRAT logo decal for the upper bed sides already arrived from Ed Dahl and is in their hands.
  8. These boys know what they are doing! She is a naked and grey beast right now but it is coming together nicely. This is the first real day of work and they have already done allot! Man this is going to be great!
  9. MANY places on-line carry them, here is one and the link to GC themselves. It is a good design. http://nextcollection.com/html/ape-auto~performance-Adjustable~Ground~Control~Coil~Over~spring-none-none-none.cfm http://www.ground-control.com/
  10. Hooligan, Check out his site, tons of good pics there. I figured out his tranny adapter template method in about two seconds after seeing his pics. http://petersontroylynda.home.comcast.net/wsb/html/view.cgi-home.html-.html
  11. You could make one like mine and install a digital set rather than analog.
  12. Use the ground control spring /adjustable perch set and mount that on some struts. I am not sure what is out there for EA82 wagons in terms of adjustables or performance struts. Camber issues will come up if you drop too low. How low you go depends on how much time you want to put into camber management.
  13. A tranny swap is an easy thing to do. If you just go get a spare and do a straight swap then it should take up an afternoon at worse. Short version: Tap out the roll pins on the axle halves Unbolt the driveshaft from the rear diff and pull it out. Drop the tranny Xmember Remove the two lower nuts and the two upper bolts Remove the lower starter nut Undo clutch and speedo cables Undo linkage (2 small bolts) Slide it back and off.
  14. I am always impressed by the level of work you are bringing to the hobby. While your engine adapter is simple enough in concept and fairly easy to make in a machine shop it is beyond what most of us have access to. Your controller is also a smart piece of fabrication.
  15. I am interested in how your proECM cip is working out. I had allot of problems with the stock ECU in general. It would flake out and give me problems as I reached higher injector duty cycles, so much that I did away with it all together and went with the LINK ECU. The Impreza ECU on the other hand (as you well know) is VERY piggyback friendly, I sure wish the ER27 ECU was. Of course with the LINK any injector that will fit the rail can be used and there are a ton of low impedence ones that fit. Your fuel dip at 6ish looks mighty familiar. I had that same problem when I was trying to run RRFPR and a AFC to get closer to the 250 cc I figured I needed. I never could get a satisfactory solution that way. The pump was part of the problem to. My current solution is a 255Lph pump and the fuel curve dissapeared.
  16. Man your right! I thought that was a pic with the rear lift in place and not the front. That should make a big difference in handeling.
  17. Put me down as a hell or high water I will be there comitment. The BRAT will be rolling out of the paint shop in about 2~3 weeks with the full up custom job and that gives me a good three months to finish the 10 inch lift upgrade and get the new tires on.
  18. I have thought about leveling out the front as well. This spring I am going to a 8/7 body lift for a total lift of 10/9. It won't totally eliminate the rake but it will level it off allot.
  19. Check your MAF, it may be dead or dying causing a rich mixture. Beyond that the O2 sensor has a hand in mixture control, check the output of that as well.
  20. That CAN happen. I had a serpant belt come flying off last week because some idiot (me) put the water pump pulley on backward. It ripped the oil pressure tube off the oil pump as it flailed around.
  21. Sort of, I got all the gear but couldn't get the time and place lined up within any reasonable time frame. I also figured I would get a bit fancier with the colored bedliner going all the way up to the trim line, and those trim pieces will be bedlined in black as well. The color is the same...
  22. I just came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to be able to finish this work in any reasonable time frame. So I brought in the experts on this one. After that I am on to 10 inches total lift and upping the tire size by 1 inch height and 2.5 inches width.
  23. Next monday I am dropping it off at the body shop. Full strip down, fill and primer, full body spray base/clear, bedline bed in black, bedline sides in electric blue up to trim belt, bedline bumpers, and all sorts of other details. Get rid of the gas door, new window seal, T top seals, blend in rear area where old bumper went, etc. Should come out in about two weeks and look as good as it runs.
  24. I guess it would also depend on what your state does if you just don't go. Some states won't re-register your plates if you don't have a current safety/emissions sticker. Others don't and you can just deal with the occasional ticket. In VA fix it tickets for "safety" violations are usually dismissed but if you just pay it you don't have to prove it was fixed.
