  1. http://www.expressautoparts.com sells MAF meter adapter plates for like $9 shipped for our cars i bought one and got a cheap cone filter from autozone to put on my XT6...it sounded awesome and opened up the mid a bit
  2. theres a turbo coupe IC on my XT... its perfect for this application and does the job quite well. check out pics here: Dennis' XT
  3. 12 days and counting see you guys soon, EJ - when are you coming up for lunch? the VIP list: myself EJ svxpert moose kecksnext pbdloyale hocrest skip trogdor benebob maybe: rallykeith jack by the sea
  4. way to turn this thread into a flame read again: on going project - this car is not by any means 100% figured out (i.e. nothing on the tach display), but maybe ill consult you to make sure that what i do to the car is ok and 'intelligent' enough for your approval or maybe not what i really did is disconnect the tach to make room for more 'fast and the furious' type commodities like blue washer lights and jap-writing stickers...
  5. mark, its actually probably the same alternator. in the 80s there was a strong nissan/datsun - subaru parts connection with alot of our cars. if you ever get a chance see what part number our oil and air filters are then check the same on an 80s 300zx.
  6. please read the initial post - no tach, no track. everyone else who made an intelligent remark or suggestion - i think you guys came up with some good numbers...i appreciate the input alot. adam - the turbocharger designation might be off, this is what i was told from a few different sources, if anyone knows - share the info? i have some big pics i can send to you of the intercooler, and that IC is perfect for the car. jay, thanks for posting those my friend.
  7. electric steve... how did you come up with those numbers? was it a hypothesis? whats a W.A.G.? i think theres alot of HP tied up in the downpipe/exhaust right now and quite possibly the timing because of how backed off it is...we were doing an experiment at work today with it and crept it up about 3 degrees - and then we screwed something up someplace with the vacuum lines... cars... anymore numbers?
  8. questions for a question...? toybuilder - yes, genuine subaru and the biggest availible jay - wanna race again? this time ill boost over 10PSI. did you see the motor when i brought the car to the meet? i wish i could handle a EJ22T swap. rallykeith - that would be interesting to see, although its not running right at all. just today the guys at work played with the timing and then it died about 6 times in the 20 mile commute home from work. im thinking some kind of vacuum leak but i cant find anything - never did this before so it has to be related. biff - no. it bolts on to the turbo thats on the car now, but it wont bolt onto the stock unit. aside from that its a tight squeeze and sits a bit low but sounds awesome. anyone else have any info for me?
  9. hey guys my on going project is an 87 XT Turbo - im trying to get a semi-accurate calculation on what kind of power the car is putting out. the tach is not currently working so i dont want to take it to the track just yet... keep in mind the car runs rich and gets about 16mpg. it was pinging for awhile but after repeated tanks fulls of 93oct. and octane booster, it seems to have calmed down abit. boost comes in pretty late, but im working on that. here are the mods... -EA82T with Gen 3 heads ported and polished -Spider Intake is port matched -WRX stock exhaust system (has all converters) -VF10 or 11 (cant remember) from a 2.2L legacy -T-bird intercooler -about 14.5-15 PSI -pistons bored .050 over -K&N conical filter -RX AWD trans and LSD -XT6 clutch and lightened flywheel it has run against a pretty modded RS and pulled ahead to where the RS was behind my back bumper in 4th gear. i know EA82Ts well and realize that they are slugs, but this car hauls
  10. i still think the RX sedan is rarer... to me the 85-86 cars are totally different then the 87+ RX sedans because they didnt have bodykits or the RX-specific DR AWD trans so im not counting them (85-86) into the equation. everytime i see an 87+ RX on the road its a 3dr...never a sedan. mine was the first 4dr RX ive ever seen and keiths was the first with all the extras... ive even seen more black 3door RXs then the sedans were talking about
  11. maybe we can drag EJ to this too...i think he said hes not working saturdays anymore ill email you for directions in a bit - are you off of 73?
  12. need an extra hand boz? im like 20 minutes from you...
  13. i have a stock 85 (1 of 1400) without the body kit of AWD trans and center diff...ive never seen one as nice on the east. you said youve owned a loyale turbo before so you know the story - keep an eye on things like the timing belts, water pump, and radiator and youll be a happy dude. by the way...i done clutch dumps at redline numerous times in mine while in 4WD LO on concrete, never hurt anything except the ground...where are all the "no 4WD on dry roads" purists now?
  14. keith... if you do your engine swap on a weekend give me a shout, im not too far and i could take a trip up to give you a hand
  15. score i probably should have looked there... but i didnt thanx man
  16. i have an XT6 alternator that i want to put on my XT does anyone machine these? if not, does any body know the measurements/size? any help is appreciated...
  17. haha youre a riot dude hey man, if you want to hang for a while afterwards im sure enough of us could be persuaded to come by. you only like about 30 minutes from me in philly
  18. i use castrol GTX 80w90 in both my cars and they seem to like it... when i brought my XT home, it was a battle to get it in gear with the synthetic gear lube that was in it. 2K miles later its smooth shifting with the GTX
  19. steve whats up with having like 12 $8 cars ? im just playing...good score man. jeremy, whats up man ? good luck with the XT
  20. i just found out that he (the builder of brat2k) worked for SOA for alot of years and transferred down to the southeast region a few years back
