  1. ok guys...seems like tex and i must be on the same wave length, the XT runs again, a day or so after his RX. the delta cams are in and the a/c compressor along with all of the other a/c components are gone. these cams really breathe new life into the car, im impressed...it feels like a different car. the dead spot between idle and boost from a dead stop is gone, replaced with alot of throttle response due to the torque these cams provide. im boosting about 5-6lbs until the engine is completely broken in (1k miles), then ill start increasing gradually. the engine was completley rebuilt down to the crank including new main bearings and rings. the car likes to idle at 1300, i could get that down more but then id have to constantly feather the gas pedal to keep it running. so after all is said and done, here is what the mods list looks like: 1987 XT Turbo GL10 -IHI VF11 Turbo with modded wastegate rod -K & N intake -WRX stock downpipe and midpipe with a 3inch straight pipe (no muffler) -full XT6 suspension front and back with adjustable KYB's in the rear - XT6 brakes, rotors and 5 lugs -Volvo By Pass Valve -Turbo XS standard boost controller -Ford T-Bird intercooler -custom short throw shifter -3.70 rear LSD and RX FT 4WD trans -XT6 clutch and lightened flywheel -677/270 Delta cams -XT6 wheels with 205/60/14 Sumitomos -complete XT6 interior including dash, seats and paneling -Autometer boost, temp and oil pressure guages hopefully it lasts more than 800mi this time.
  2. alex... i agree. i have had PM conversations with the mod who decided on this move and it did no good. perhaps a petition thread would be a better idea?
  3. got the idle to about 1300...sounds great with open intake and exhaust. ill wait another 1000mi before i start cranking the boost up but its definatley got more pull to it now than before.
  4. hey guys... the XT is back together and running - it now wants to idle at 1500RPMs and the engine seems down on vaccuum pressure according to the boost gauge. is this a condition you guys have experienced with these cams in this engine? or do you think something else is up?
  5. help us guys... our post got locked away and sent to dead post hell in the meet and greet forum. we still need some registrations to help us get to 25!
  6. i have a feeling it has to do with this thread being moved...definitley dont appreciate it.
  7. brian and caleb are right. legacys and imprezas from that era are twice the cars than the underpowered, gas guzzling slugs of the EA series. these rides are much more refined and you dont have to go searching through junkyards to find parts for them. an added plus is: on the 90s cars theres (guess what ?!?!) no BS lifter ticks, one timing belt, doors that actually close right and a lesser chance of being eaten alive by rust. the 2.2L is a great engine and probably one of the best. the EJ22T is even better - though its a different beast comapared to its NA cousin. id go after it for what hes asking but lowball him first...if he doesnt bite, jump with both feet and step out of "the dark ages"
  8. the XT (bigger turbo, modded MAF, IC and more) gets about 13MPG running around the city and some highway miles. the Imp. L gets about 20MPG doing the same but hasnt had a tune up in a very long time. meeky...id check the RX out again. i was getting 300-350 a tank about a year and a half ago after a fresh tune up.
  9. guys... we need to keep this thread alive since it was moved from the old gen forum into here. keep posting and keep those registrations coming thanx
  10. i havent decided what im doing yet... a hotel might be an option for me
  11. RX springs were said to be stiffer... i used them in various other loyale cars over the years but when it comes down to it, they all handle like garbage.
  12. glad you asked, kevin... the long block is back together...it would have been running yesterday, but we didnt have the long sump tube that goes in the oil pan in stock so it had to be oredered. the old one was stuck in the old block and wouldnt come out. im shooting for monday or tuesday, depending upon how busy the shop is...i havent been able to sneak over there to do anything myself because ive been so busy with my job, so one of the techs has been working on it there. i have picked up a forester XT intercooler, and it looks like itll be a good fit - rather than the thunderbird IC thats on there now. ill probably get the car home and come up with piping when i get a chance on a weekend. thats about it for now, ill post an update once i hear it run again...lets hope this motor lasts long than 800mi.
  13. come on guys, why wait on this? we need all the help we can get - thanks to the guys registering who dont even know if they can make it. youre helping us out big time...
  14. i wish they wouldnt be so broad about it... "put an ej20 into ANY old subaru" implys alot. i read the entire article and it was so halfassed.
  15. one of 1400 i think...i did some research on it back when i owned it. that one has an early build date too, but its a shame the checkered interior was all shot.
  16. yeah im with paul, i could lay down another registration fee or 2 if were hurting for them closer to the date.
  17. registered today...number 2039 big thanks to skip for registering, he's not even sure if he can make it. keep them coming guys...we're on a roll.
  18. has anyone proven this mod yet? i see some guys mentioning it, but does it fit on our manifolds?
  19. the xt6 has a custom eaton supercharger... its up for an award for the "longest, most drawn out project on a subaru ever"
  20. yeah its the 16th thru the 18th, and i think ben has something to do with it. heres a bunch of forums on the svx network dedicated to the meet: SVX Meet in Reading, Pa if im gonna get to see one or 2 of my friends ill go.
