  7. Hey Randomizer This is Jerry, yrs i have done this on my hatchbrat works really good. On your compressure you have 2 lines one big and one smaller, the big line you attach a air filter to it. The smaller line you need to get a 1 way check valve and install it into the line then plum it into the tank. You Also need a pressure switch for 125 psi and that gose in the tank to tell the comprusser to turn off or on. Then plum your line where ever you want it. I also have a gauge inside of the dash so i can see how much pressure i have in the tank. If you do this project you will have to remove the suction hose about every ten times the pump comes on and drop about 5 drops of comprusser oil into the pump to lube it. The tank i got from a semi truck aslo the 1 way check valve came from the same truck. The pressure switch i got from the hard ware store make sure you tell then what you are useing the switch for that way you get the correct switch. The air filter i got from sears for a small portable air comprusser. Thanks Jerry
  8. Hi WJM This is Jerry, what is this cusco that you are talking about. I would like more info on this thing. Thanks Jerry
  9. Hey Brian This is Jerry, no you don't need a different flywheel. You have the 8 and 7/8 flywheel and thats the flywheel you use on this change over. Everything is cool i have it handled, i have the other clutch disc that you need for the 5 speed already for you. Thanks Jerry
  10. Hey Caboobaroo This is Jerry, instead of the 4 speed install the 5 speed dual range tranny it's alot better tranny and alot more fun to drive. After all you are doing all this work just go another step install the 5 speed you will love it. Thanks Jerry
  11. Hi This is Jerry, your car is worth at leats 2 grand pluse your old car. If they don't let you have your old car with the 2 grand then tell them it will be 3 grand also tell the insurance adjuster that you have time how about you that really puts them in a bind. Because the insurance wants to close as soon as posable it cost then less money. This is exactly what happen to my brat about 3 years ago. It took about 5 or 6 months to get my money for my brat. I am still looking for a blue 86 brat that is in A 1 shape haven't found one yet. I also held out for 5 grand and got to keep my old brat. On the medical side of this accident hold out for at least 1 year that way you will find out if any thing is from this accident. Wow this is a flash back on my brat just makes me cry i mis my brat. Thanks Jerry
  12. Hey Dayn This is Jerry, on your brat there is 2 relays one for each side. The relays are located by the fuse box and they are round and silver in color. most likey with your 100w lights you melted the relay shut and that is why your lights don't turn off. I have alot of spares if you need any just let me know. Thanks Jerry
  13. Hey capn_r This is Jerry, just get a complete set up for a 84 wagon or brat from 84-87 it is a bolt on set up. The EA82 pressure plate to fit on the EA81 flywheel you will have to machine off .090 from the front of the flywheel. The Ea81 flywheel is taller then the EA82 flywheel i know i have done this set up before. The EA82 flywheel has bigger bolt holes in it than the EA81 has. Thanks Jerry
  14. Hi Tom This is Jerry, forget the rear drums do a swap over to the rear disc. Alot better brakes and no adjustments just bolt them on and get the air out off the system done deal. I don't run any of my EA81 cars without rear disc. Thanks Jerry
  15. Hey Fullmoon This is Jerry, no you don't need to change that valve. I am the first person that done this swap over that i know of. It is very simple mod to do. Just unbolt the rear brakes and bolt the rear disc on and blead the brakes your done. Thanks Jerry
  16. Hi Everybody This is jerry, i just printed off a copy to put inside of my tool box at work to remind me and everybody at work i will be at this show. Also to remind my coworkers that have those jeeps subarus are cool too we have are own show la tee dah. As you can tell by reading this i raz those jeepers just like they raz me. Thanks Jerry
  17. Hey Buddy This is Jerry, a cool rig to drive and i can do alot of swapping of parts. Cheap on gas and you have 4x4 wow when you go to the gas station to fill up 16 - 18 dollars and look over to that big honken pickup 100 dollars or more. I have better things to spend my money on that just gas to haul my but around remember i drive 500 miles a week just to work and back. Then when you do these mods to a subaru and everybody sees it you get 1 of 2 looks it is what the heck or thats really cool. Now you know Thanks Jerry
  18. Hey Brian This is Jerry, pm me with your address i have some gasket sealer that is really good stuff. I work on CASE backhoes and this stuff is made for case. It really works i use it on water on gas on oil on deisel on hyd oil heck on everything. This stuff works good- do not use on head gaskets but everything else. Also use it on the crank case when you put it back together it won't leak. Thanks Jerry
  19. Hi Chris This is jerry, yes that is what i did but i move the holes closer to the inside of the rotor mount. There is more room between the bolt holes. I had to mill some of the rotor stand on the back side to get the holes ferther apart. I also cut down the outside diameter of the hub to lighten it up. I drive my hatchback hard in the corners lots of times. I have about 12,000 miles on them and i haven't broke anything yet. Thanks Jerry
  20. Hey Scrap This is Jerry, you say it runs fine when it is cold then as it warms up then starts to run like crap. You have a vacum leak, the reason it runs fine cold is because the choke is on. The car runs richer as it warms up it runs leaner runs like crap. Check the vacum hoses for one that you left off or has a crack in it or you got 2 or more hoses mix up. It also could be your carb at the throtle shalf, when you clean all the gunk off of it you open the hole up a vacum leak. Check the shalf see if it has a lot of play in it. Thanks Jerry
  21. Hi Chris This is Jerry, the bolt patteren i am running is 4 on 4 1/2 inch is the same as toyota car. The bolt patteren is off set slightly. The bolt patteren that you want to run is to small 4 on 100mm is to close to the center of the hub. Thats why i chose toyota and there is all kinds of those wheels. Thanks Jerry
  22. Hey Vortex This is Jerry, no it's not hard to put new holes in these hubs. You don't have to weld up the old holes. You need to get a rear stub shalf with the bearings and spacer and a set up for the front also. Bolt the hub on the stub shalf and chuck it in the lathe. Machine the front of the hub and mark the bolt circle with the cutter tool then center punch your bolt circle and drill holes. On the back side chuck the hub in the milling machine and mill the bolt holes flat. Pound the studs back in the hub X by 4 then your done. Thanks Jerry
  23. Hi Chris This is Jerry, i have done 2 sets of 4 lug hubs. I didn't weld up the holes i just machined 4 new holes and turn down the hub so it wasn't so big. I have a set of hubs on my 86 hatchback that has a bolt circle of 4 on 4 and 1 half inch that is toyota car. The next set i will be doing is 4 on 4 and three quarter inch bolt pattern, i have a set of mag wheels with that bolt pattern. The hubs are cast steel i have welded on a set before and i have turn a set of hubs down in the lathe they are cast steel cast iron machines alot different and also welds didderent. I have alot of time in my hubs but not much money in them. Thanks Jerry
  24. Hey Andy This is Jerry, i have a 84 turob wagon sitting in my yard we can rob it if you need some parts. I also have a new heater core still in the box if you need it make me some knid of a deal on it. Let me know Thanks Jerry
  25. Hey Buddy This is Jerry, at my job everybody has a jeep poor suckers. I get put down just about everyday but now that winter is here it is a different story. On these slick roads my hatchback runs circles around them, all i say to them look who has the better car now. My hatchback gets over double the gas mileage than those jeeps like the word stands for just emptey every pocket of all your money. This has been on going for over 5 years now for me but now i have a coworker in a 80 brat won't be long before another coworker is in a subaru. Trade not a chance Thanks Jerry
