  1. Hey brat This is Jerry, just bring your old drive shalf to a drive line shop and tell them you want 51 inches of new tubing install in it and have it balance. Problem solved. For the brats and wagons the lenght is 51 inches and the hatchback is 48 inches of new tubing. Thanks Jerry
  2. Hey Gary This is jerry, if you use that tool make sure that the piston is at the top of the cylinder. If you don't and the valve drops into the cylinder how do you get it back into the valve guide magic. Thanks Jerry
  3. Hi This is Jerry, i have 2 of them. The first one i bought about 4 years ago that is in my hatch and the other one about 2 years ago it is in my hatchbrat. I haven't had any problems good battery and also mine haven't had any build up on the post. Thanks Jerry
  4. Hey Fluid This is Jerry, i had a 78 brat that did the same thing. Well to get it unstuck you need to jack up the front end of the car just so the front wheels are off the ground. Then you need a rod about 3 feet long. Start the car in gear with the clutch pedal push in to the floor. Then rev the engine to about 2 grand with the rod, with your right foot dinamite the brakes. It will brake loose the clutch i had to do it 4 times before the clutch broke loose but after i did it everything was ok ready to drive. OH BTW make sure there is nothing in front of your car because if it falls off of the jack you won't run over anything. Thanks Jerry
  5. Hey Single This is Jerry, cut your shaft in half then get some tubing heavy wall that will fit over the shaft. Slide the tubing over 1 part of the shaft and install the parts on the car. Slide the tubing over the steering shafts and center the tubing. Spot weld it in place then remove it and weld it up and reinstall it. Done deal Thanks Jerry

Shift away hasn't come loose yet in 6 months. When people my age look at my hatch they say was this car built in the 60s and i tell them no i was. Thanks Jerry

  10. Hi Guys This is jerry, i had it in my 86 brat and i was at the subie show 1. There was a bunch of pictures of it with that roll bar in it. The cost of the bar was 165.00 and the shipping was 135.00 but you got to remember that was over 7 years ago. Thanks Jerry
  11. Hey Guys This is Jerry, i am in the proscess of doing that same project. It is a 80 brat with a 6 inch lift and a hot EA81 with the 5 speed dual range tranny useing the stock shifters. Also i have install the EA81 rear suspension and rear disc brakes. From doing this project if you are going to stuff the 5 speed dual range tranny in a EA71 car or brat you will need at least a 4 inch lift the tunnel is to small and the tranny is to big to fit without alot of mods to the tunnel. It will be done in about 2 weeks and i will let you know how it turns out. Thanks Jerry

He ask me to pull it with my brat i told him you do the math 2500 lbs. againts 18000 lbs. not going to pull it. What had happen is the fuel jelled up on it. Went back to get my brat and shifted it in 4 low first gear the wheels spun about one turn and away we went.
