  1. New Forester, 2015, bought in July of 2015 has the problem of popping out of first gear into neutral when decelerating on a slight downhill grade in first gear at low r.p.m.s (between 1000 and 2000 r.p.m.) It happened to my wife and me both, and happens about once every week or so. The problem is slowly increasing in frequency. The service department at our dealer has had the car since Thanksgiving and it is now Jan. 4th. They say they cannot replicate the problem. Has anybody run into this problem on a late model manual transmission Forester?
  2. I recently purchased a 2015 Subaru Legacy with 7,000 miles and driven by a sales manager at the dealership. I have driven the car about 2,800 miles (about 1/2 highway and 1/2 local) and am not getting anywhere near the stated mileage. My commute for work is about 2 miles each way and is not stop and go (I go about 25 to 45 miles per hour on a main road). Highway, I keep it between 65 and 72 mph. My city MPG is about 18 to 22 and my highway is between 25 and 28. Advertised mileage is 26 mpg city and 36 highway. I'm just not getting anywhere close to this. Has anyone else experienced these issues? I have the car currently into the dealership, but they don't seem too interested in looking for any problems since there is no check engine light on.

  4. All - opinions solicited... Blew the engine at 234K on my 2008 Forester - eventually will re-power her up, but at that mileage I'd prefer to go new. What are the must haves on a 2015? And I want the base model - or close to it - so what has anyone paid new for one. I'm trying to see what wiggle room there is in the market. I live in Vermont. I think its time to buy post-Turkey Day. Deals in December they say.
