Hey guys, so glad I found this group first of all, I really hope I can get my questions answered here. I have an interest in restoring vehicles with a moderate mechanical background/understanding. I decided to start with this 95 Subaru Impreza L-AWD with 148k miles. Currently I am working on the rear end/suspension and I’ve discovered they pretty much everything is rusted and fused together. So I figured that while I was tearing into this I might as well switch to disk brakes. I already plan on replacing everything from the sub frame to the tires so I do understand what I’m getting into. Pretty much have to cut everything off. I believe I have the correct axles, and linkages picked out but I’m having trouble with what all I need to get ahold of from the knuckle forward. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Alright here we go again, sorry for all the parts questions recently. Just wanna make sure I'm getting the right stuff and I know you guys know your spoob obviously. So here we go. looking at water pump for the EA82 online and I'm finding two different hub heights. one being.... 4.087" the other 4.320" not sure which to get. I'm thinking the difference in hub heights is either with or w/o AC. I don't have AC so I'm thinking the shorter one, but honestly just a guess and don't wanna get the wrong one. lemme know if ya'll have knowledge on this. ALSO, I'm totally unfamiliar with auto manufactures as they relate to quality. RockAuto has a few to select from.... ACDELCO GATES AIRTEX CARDONE AISIN Delco being most expensive and Gates being least. Anyone have brand preference?

Hello all, I'm new to this forum. I have owned my 89 XT GL for about a year now with minor problems but overall satisfied. I am having a hard time locating any kind of parts for this thing and was hoping to get some knowledge from you guys. First is there any short or cold air intakes made to fit for the 1.8l? 2nd, has anyone fabricated a short ram themselves. i was thinking i could fab something up to relocate the MAF closer to the manifold and then just put a short pipe and cone filter on the end of it to free up some of that engine noise i love so much. I'm just trying to get ideas of how i want to go about it. I'm not kidding myself i'm not trying to make this thing go fast because nothing short of a swap to the turbo 6 would do that lol. I've already put a subtle performance muffler on the back and I'm just trying to get the front to match in sound. any help of comments are appreciated.

I just bought a used 1998 Legacy 2.2 5spd MT with ~169,000 miles on it. I'm looking for replacement knock and downstream O2 sensors for it. For the O2 Sensor, I am looking at the Bosch 15726. Is this a good sensor or should I go with the more expensive OEM part? For the knock sensor, I have not yet found a suitable part. Are there any non-OE parts or should I stick with OEM?

Well hi there. Upon the installation of a nice Alpine deck, replacing my GL's stock AM/FM radio - I've ran into a few issues. 1 - Confirmed left front speaker blown 2 - Confirmed right front speaker inoperable? 3 - Left rear speaker missing 4 - Right rear speaker intact - though speaker wires in panel are cut? Kay - Those were simply "discoveries" I @#$%'d up maybe a thing or two. This was my first stereo install. I'm not mad, I think I did pretty well considering a lack of previous experience. Would someone perhaps like to elaborate - "Switched Power" vs. Battery Lead. Switched power is... When the car is turned to ACC or ON, no? Regardless of how I wire it, when the engine is shut off, the deck shuts off as well. I've seen a few threads on here relating to such issues, though perhaps they didn't answer my questions. I'll be picking up speakers later today. Wiring <what> to <what>... Can screw <what> up? What should I wire "Illumination" to? Thank you fellow enthusiasts.

Im new to all of this, my previous car was a 96 Oldsmobile and so this is my first step into having really my own car that i can work on/learn with and upgrade. Ive found a lot of parts for the WRX and STI models but not very much for the Impreza, I was wondering if the WRX parts would fit and work properly on an Impreza. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tyler
