  1. From the big bend in Florida. I've tried some other sites but they don't look as good as this one. I had a Forrester and just bought the Crosstrek. Starlink and Eyesight are driving me crazy. Well, a little putt could do that. Hundreds of pages of manuals without answers. Some of the answers on the forum leave me more confused. But, I like a challenge. My first car was a 1949 Ford coupe. Flathead 6. I had one of the first SAABs that came into the country. 2 cycle, add oil to the gas tank with each fill-up. I'm at the point in life that when I read a page in the manual and turn to the next page, I've forgotten the last one. But, I like challenges. I love the way the Crosstrek handles, all the way to 100MPH. Glad to be here. Thanks
  2. Howdy folks! First off, I must give honor to where it is due--and that is to you! To everyone who posts and comments here, even those who read this forum, I owe you a tremendous thank you! A very special thanks though of course to the posters and picture takers. Know that your many hours of bleeding knuckles and depression suffered amidst puzzling problems are not in vain. Your suffering has made my life easier, so thank you very very much for the work and time you put into these boards and of course your Subaru! I am a small fry car dealer in beautiful sales-tax-less Oregon. I just like cars in general, not one in particular per-say, nor would I call my self an "enthusiast". I simply like motor vehicles and have always found them fascinating. I suppose you could compare this to a horse lover---they admire the majestic creatures because of their power, presence and of course their usefulness and (sometimes) loyalty. I am not a mechanic but I have all of the tools to be one except for a hydraulic lift and of course that tool I always need when I don't have it. I am a "do-it-yourselfer" at heart. I enjoy the thrill of figuring something out (with help of course) and then fixing it myself. Anyway, I look forward to seeing you all on the boards . . . this time with an account to be able to praise you and stump you with my car's woes.
  3. Hello All, Steve here. New member from Central Vermont. Look forward to having you folks as a resource as I look to keep my 08 Impreza hatchback running in fine order and begin my search for a used Legacy. Best, Steve
  4. Hi all, I've had my brumby for a few years and kept it as is, but I'm feeling confident (silly) enough to start adding some creature comforts and hopefully get her running a bit better. No real clue what I'm doing, but happy to see so much info on here! Here she is at the moment, just starting a central locking and stereo install. Thanks!
  5. Hi all! I'm new to this so please bare with me if I start posting in the wrong places. Eventually I'll get it together. But I'm excited to be here and hopefully get some tips and advice as well! Thanks
  6. Sup y'all?! Happy to be a part of the subaru gang!
  7. Hello My name is Josh I have a 2001 Forester L with an EJ25 Ive had it about 4 days now and I love the heck out of it but I'm having an issue... When it sits for a little while like 3-5 hours or gets cold, especially in the morning.... it has a problem starting... the motor will crank 1,2,3 surge 4,5 then fire then run really high rpm with a rattle type noise then its fine... I'm not sure if surge is the right term for this but the motor pretty much stops turning and I dont get it and being an auto mechanic in the works I'm at a loss for thoughts of what it could be its only a starting issue with no driveability problems or codes thrown.. Could somebody shead some light onto a few things I could look at or at least a right dirrection to look in since search engines dont seam to do the trick Thank you very much for your time and I look forward to talking with you all and becoming a forum friend of yours!
