I have a 2003 Subaru Legacy that with heat set to max, the temp is just a little warm. The engine temp is in the middle and stays that way after engine warms up. I get cold air in the summer with the AC on but in the winter with heat it's not very warm even at max. When I purchased the car, it had a new radiator and thermostat put in along with head gaskets replaced so that part is all working well. I do hear some gurgling from the heater core infrequently. The coolant level is good. I felt the hoses going to the heater core and the upper one was warm, not hot, and the other felt air temp. Any suggestions?

My heat and air all work wonderfully, however they will not blow on 4(high). In the last year the blower motor assembly has been replaced, as well as the blower resistor, and the system does not behave any different. I checked the plug to the blower motor and on all settings and there is 12 volts coming in, however, the plug is not grounding on the number 4 fan setting. Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

1989 GL SPFI Metal caps on radiator. (no plastic on radiator) Currently it is running Peak antifreeze, (blue container with mountains in the background) i just bought the best stuff, (well i think it is).. the thermostat was changed to a brand new beck n arnley a year ago and im pretty sure theres nothing "clogged" in the cooling system, i have flushed it twice, once in august 2014 and again in march of 2015. Today it got to 98 degrees F, and my tempeature needle was at 3/4 the way, it usually sits between 1/4 or lower when the tempeature is at or below 90F outside, but if it goes above 95F, it goes half or past half. 3/4 scares me (that was today) and tempeatures here during the summer go to 115F, i need a solution or when the tempeature goes above 100F, i will have to drive my Impreza and park my GL it has a mechanical belt driven fan (changed to a new one 3months ago, that was expensive) and 1 stock electric fan that i rigged to always run no matter what (both are working fine).. i noticed this overheating problem back in september but since it was becoming fall already, issue quickly went away once highs went below 95F. its interesting because if the tempeature is below 95, it just stays perfectly fine at 1/4 but if its like 97 or 98, it jumps like crazy to half or 3/4. Does anyone else have these problems when tempeatures go above 100F? any suggestions or brands of antifreeze? its getting toasty down here in Texas...

So now that my brat is becoming more and more done, I'm getting ready to tackle the heat. Well, lack of it. When I turn the dial absolutely nothing happens. I deleted the a/c, but it wasn't working before that anyway. Where should I start my chase for the fix of the problem? Down the rabbit hole I go.....

I recently bought a used Subuaru Forester (2000) from a private seller in Texas. While I bought the car for its awd in the tough MI winters it has turned out to be quite the pansy in the cold. This morning on my way in to work it was very very cold and snowing. I turned on my heat and the engine temp would not go up then went all the way up. I am sure that this was not correct because the car did not overheat all 67 miles in to work. The heater kept blowing cold air for the next ten min. However about ten min into my drive I heard a squealing that would come and go and got worse and lasted longer and then my "heat" quit blowing alltogether as did the sqealing. Im pretty sure the squealing was from my fan belt or serpentine belt but the car never overheated so it must still be working. I have no idea how to trouble shoot heating problems but I do not want to continue doing the hour + drive to and from work in below zero weather with no heater!
