Hi, another 2000 subaru legacy/liberty problem. So far i have researched as much as i can about this problem but just want to firm up my understanding in this post. So the car has 145,000kms (90,000m) and has had full head gasket replacement along with timing belt ect ect. The new problem has occurred probably two years following this which started with the engine light flashing on during start up or whilst driving with limited power and significant lag between pushing the pedal. The light would then go off and the car would function normally. I have been meaning to take the car in for service when today the car would jolt into the gears and not change during the same rpm that it usually does. I am pretty freaked out by the whole thing and want to confirm a few things before rushing and replacing the transmission which seems to be the consensus on these forums. Initially i thought the O2 sensor could be the blame for the engine light and power lag problem if anyone could shed some light on this that would be great. So my first question would be do i pursue the Trans X method and try that along with flushing the fluid and replacing. The car has had the delay between reverse and drive issue but the delay was less than one second and has never really been a concern. Any advice is welcome, thank you in advance.

Good Brothers have a problem with my transmission ... now.... no hand held ODB was able to connect to the TCU..... I manually checked the problem by using the power light flashes to determine the trouble code... the code responded was the line pressure duty solenoid... i replaced that solenoid and the same problem arised . i maunally reset the tcu and ECU via battery pole etc...... the same code keep repeating saying it is line pressure duty solenoid. yes the transmission is in field safe mode. now if i start the car... while tumbling just before the engine starts i put it in reverse and the light stabilizes and its out of field safe mode. if i switch off and start back its good... but if i leave it off over 5 mins .. start back the power light continues to flash and transmission is in field safe mode.... what do you professionals think is the problem?

Hi Fellow Subaru Owners, I own a 2008 impreza RX - 2 litre standard, 4 sp auto hatch with 50,000 km - actually my wife's car and driven as though it belongs to God. Recently, when the auto changes gear, there is a thump felt that actually shakes the car. When slowing down, the gear changes again provide some shift-shock but to a lesser degree. The Subaru dealer's mechanic drove it and experienced it but his computer analysis shows no faults. Can anyone offer meaningful advice ? The next stage is evidently to take out the gearbox and ship it off to specialists to have it diagnosed and repaired. Quotes at this stage are rubbery but $2,000+ is being discussed. In a modern car with 50,000 gentle km???? Help! Kind Regards Thomas
