  1. I have an 86 BRAT that needs a new oil pump, now I have learned that these pumps are ridiculously hard to get these days. For now I am getting an original replacement pump, however odds are I will have to replace it again at some point in time. Lots of you will probably say to just engine swap an EJ in, but I want to keep this vehicle as stock as possible. So here is the question, does anyone know if it is possible to get an adapter for these pumps? You can get an adapter to relocate the filter, so I'm wondering if there is an adapter to get this engine to accept a different, aftermarket oil pump? Thanks in advance, long live the EA engines :).
  2. Just curious. I know MOMO and Grant had applications for Gens 1-3, but I've never seen or heard of an adapter from Nardi.
  3. My flatbed Toyota is missing an engine. I was considering a used later model 40,000 mile Toyota V6 from Japan at a cost of $1000 plus $400 for wiring adapters for California smog. Bill Hinchers thread on the W series transmission adapter gave me hope that I can use a boxer engine. I would move the wiring to the pickup cab to pass California smog. The following is my wishful thinking. I have a good boxer engine from my totaled 2000 Forester. The W series adapter will fit my flatbed 1989 Toyota (former Uhaul) truck in the pic. When I look at the three foot wide boxer engine in my Forester and compare it to my 2 foot Toyota frame rails I can't see how to get the clearance needed to install it. What if I lift the cab a couple inches, build a transmission doghouse, move the engine/transmission mounts up and forward so the left rear cylinder will clear the IFS mounts & steering shaft, ... Maybe rotate the engine/trans a few degrees... Seems wild. Is there a simpler way? I Googled images in vain to see if anyone has a boxer engine in a Toyota pickup. Anyone care to share a list of car or truck models that have benefited from the Toyota W series adapters? Thanks to all for a great forum.
  4. I've been trying to find some info on EA71 swapped VW's. Not a lot coming up, but there was a Brazilian abomination of sorts EA71 powered Bay Window. I am looking to source a transmission adapter for, say, an air cooled VW Beetle 4speed manual to start. I found an Aussie site, Volks Conversions, that listed one. Contacted them, awaiting reply. Does anyone know of any old build threads on here that I could peruse? Search won't let me look for EA71 stuff as the boolean string is too small.
