Hi all, I'm looking to purchase a 2009 outback, 5mt. 160k miles. Hit something and the front bumper is cracked, along with the hood being a little wrinkled now. The steering wheel airbag deployed. I'm hoping to buy the car cheap, and replace the airbag myself. Is it just that simple? There are a lot of airbags on ebay for about $150, but they all say 4AT on the back of them. Does that mean they're not compatible with a 5 speed manual? Also, do I need to replace airbag control modules too? Seatbelts x4? I assume once I've done the manual labor, I need to have the components synced at a dealership? I haven't found a write-up on the forum for airbag replacement. OEM airbag from subaru is $550... Take care Greg

After hearing for years my subaru (2009 OBW euro) was not part of the airbag recall now they finally decided that it is a part of the recall. But reading the letter it shows that there are 2 more recalls due on my car. 1. Passenger airbag module 2. Fuel pump wire assembly (replace fuel pump wires as they can cause a short). 3. Brake line excessive rust, check and replace brake lines when needed. #1 is not a suprize but #2 is, anyone heard of that one in US?

I have a 2007 Outback with manual non-heated seats. I also have access to a 2007 Outback with electric seats that are heated. The interior in my Outback is trashed and I want to swap the good interior from the broken car into mine. Has anybody dealt with installing seats that have wiring for electric and/or heated situations? I'm assuming that the entire wiring harness to some degree needs to be changed. Anybody that's been through the process could help me save time I'd appreciate it. All the love from Colorado!

Went to my dealer today and got my airbag recall work done. However, by the time I got home (I live 30 miles from the closest dealership), I realized that my clock/distance/temp/mpg display was not powered and not working. I called the dealership and they said it was most likely just a cable that needed plugging into the power and that this could be done without bringing it back in (it will be a while before I could do that any way). Where do I look for this cable? Is it just needing to be plugged into a fuse box or something? I can't find anything on the internet or I just don't know the key words I should be using. Any help would be appreciated.

I need to replace both of the airbags that deployed after a crash. Beside the obvious need to physically replace both airbags what else may need to be reset or replaced? Any tips on removal or replacement would be helpful as well. They deployed do to an accident with fairly significant front end damage. I have not been able to find any guides on replacement for this part of the repair. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. Bob
