  1. I’m noticing that after I drive on a highway for a while then come to a stop this interesting light patter comes on. The “brake” and “at oil temp” light are flashing. The the middlE light is solid. what is interesting is that the car seems to be fine otherwise. After I turn it off for a while they won’t come back on. And this doesn’t happen every time I drive it. anyone had this happen? My best guess is that a sensor somewhere may be bad.
  2. So I just sunk $1300 into replacing the head gaskets on my 98 Legacy Outback Limited. Got the car back and everything was fine. Drove it up north over the weekend (~200 miles) and on the way back the engine lost power while cruising at 70MPH. It sort of lurched forward as if I were running out of gas (which I wasn't). I attempted to start the car after this and the AT Oil Temp light came on and flashed 16 times. I drove about another 1/4 mile before it died again. I got the car towed home and figured I'd take it to my mechanic the next day. Well I tried to start it and now I have nothing. No crank, nothing but a faint *click* sound when I turn the key. Anyone have this problem happen before? I can't think of anything that would cause my car to both die on the highway, trigger the AT Oil Temp light, AND no crank no start afterwards. But maybe the problems are unrelated. In either case, I'm kind of at a loss of what to do with it at this point. Any advice is appreciated.
  3. Hey guys, So my new (to me) 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback with the 4EAT on startup blinks the AT OIL TEMP error code 16 times. I'm 95% sure it's a problem with the Duty C Solonoid. I both lifted the car off the ground and went offroading (before I knew of the problem) and the rear wheels and drivetrain never turn, which also makes me believe this is a problem with the Dudy C Solonoid. However, before I start looking into replacing the Dudt C, I want to see if anything else could be causing this problem. Where is the wiring for the transmission or more specifically the Duty C solodnoid? I'm thinking it could just be broken somewhere. I've looked online and from page to page of my repair manual but i cant find anything about transmission wiring. Thanks guys, Matt
  4. I just bought a 97 Legacy 2.2L and started having the AT Oil Temp light flashing 16 times at start up. So first I did the transmission fluid flush myself. I tried to put in 10, 15, and 20 amp fuse in the FWD slot but nothing comes on even though that dash light flashes on startup so I know the light bulb in dash is fine. Today I reset the error code by removing fuse 14. After replacing the fuse and starting the car, the AT Oil light doesn't flash 16 times but once I restart without even driving the car, the flashing 16 times reoccurs. Please help me address these questions if possible and much appreciated: 1. Why doesn't the FWD light come on with fuse in? 2. Since the error code(TCU error 24 I pulled previously from handshake) comes back immediately after ECU/TCU reset without put the car in drive, does it mean it's an electrical issue? i.e. bad TCU, or could it still be the solenoid that's bad? 3. How do I check the connection from the solenoid to TCU? Thanks in advance.
  5. I’m in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and if you know the Parries, you know we get some cold weather. It has been -20 Celsius or less for a week now and I’m having some real issues with the warning lights on my dash. I have 2014 Forester 2.0XT with Eyesight and a factory installed car starter. After a night of cold weather I will, of course, try to warm up my car using the Subaru installed starter.. but it won’t work. It doesn't want to start the vehicle because the computer is displaying the following warning lights: Check Engine, Hill Assist, AT Oil Temp, ABS, Vehicle Dynamics System, Pre-collision braking system off and Lane departure off. I took the car into the dealership last year and presented a photo of the dash (because these things never seem to present themselves when you have a technician standing next to you), they agreed that it was strange and replaced the wiring harness. This seemed to do the trick; however, at this point the overnight temperature had begun to improve as spring was on its way. Now we’re into January again and I’m faced with same issues. I don’t want to be a super big baby about it, but I paid the extra money to have a car starter installed (because I don’t have a garage) and it just won’t work. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue as me? Or, do I have to just suck it up and face the fact the car starter only works in the summer, and that the warning lights are just another reminder that the winters on the parries are brutal.
  6. an AT OIL TEMP light has been blinking now and then.when it starts blinking the vehicle loses torque when accelerating especially from a stopped position.There is some noticeable jerks when changing shift positions between parking and drive.when not blinking the performance is excellent and no jerks when shifting gear positions..i was adviced to change the atf transmission fluid but this has not helped,some auto mechanic also said it could be the clutches that are slipping due to wear,another one said it could be blockage.After taking the vehicle to a computer diagnostic and got a p0768 code;(control unit,transmission control system code p0768 shift solenoid D electrical)i needed to have a heads up before getting the gear box repaired or replaced.was thinking repairs could be more expensive than getting a second hand gearbox,especially that i was told by subaru kenya that a complete valve body(containing all the shift solenoids) could cost me nearly usd2000.What could be the problem?
