  1. OK- so I finally got my 1987 BRAT (big blue) running good and hooked up with a working alternator from a 94 pathfinder (seen here) and I've still got a few wiring issues and would really appreciate some help figuring them out! Problem 1: Fuel sender wire got burnt off during some welding, does anyone know where the 2 wires come out of the cab from? Wanna just take them back on a set of new wires anyway, stuff on the rear end isn't too pretty. Problem 2: Does anyone know where the power wire for the Dash/Heater control back lighting is? Power to those are out, while the headlights and stuff all work. Minor problem: The dash voltmeter ALWAYS reads full volts, no matter what. Even if the battery is pretty much dead, it just pegs itself at maximum voltage++ Thanks in advance- I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel with by BRAT. -CL
  2. I have a 2011 Subaru Impreza with only about 31,000 miles on it thus far. Just curious if anyone else has experienced the following problem. All of a sudden out of the blue when I am driving, the following 3 lights appear on the dash: ABS Hill assist is off Skid control is off If I turn off the engine and turn the car back on, the 3 lights disappear. This has happened a total of 3 times. 2 of them were in extremely cold below zero weather (I live in Wisconsin) and the 3rd in a temp of about 35 degrees outside driving in a rain/snow mix. My old 2002 Subaru Impreza never gave me problems, but I sold that one to my son 3 years ago---I kinda want that one back. I liked the old one better than my new one. Any thoughts on why the lights appear?
  3. I got my fuel pump to work, now I have ran into another issue. It won't shut off. On top of that my dash lights wont dim and my heater won't work. For those of you who don't know I recently stripped the interior of my Brat to paint and now I'm reinstalling it. I had a grounding problem that was causing a lot of problems but with the help of you guys I figured it out. Now I've ran into more issues, like my fuel pump not shutting off. It worked just fine when I disconnected it. I did a search and it would seem that the most likely problem is that I connected it to the wrong plug, yet here's the plug I connected it to, same color, same wires. It's the black one on the right I'm adding these other issues because they may be related. My dash lights won't dim which is most likely a grounding problem. The only ground looking wire I've been able to find is this guy, and it's spliced into a hot wire into the back of the fuse box. Tried grounding it just in case, repeatedly blew fuses. I did convert to LED's My heater isn't working. It was working on high, but now not at all. I will admit I had the fan motor apart to check the bushings. They were in good condition. I may have screwed up when I put them back in. Right now, I'm more focused on the fuel pump. I do have this gadget that needs to go somewhere. I believe it goes here but the colors on the wires don't match up. The pink one in the center. As far as I know everything else is working. Thanks for the help.
