  1. I've been replacing the timing belt and pulleys in my 1999 Legacy Lancaster (a Japanese import similar to an Outback) with a kit from Amazon, I noticed that the rusty looking "guide" just left of the top cam on the right side (looking at the engine from mechanic perspective) was actually a small pulley with a destroyed ball bearing inside it. None of the belt kits I looked at, and I looked at many, included this pulley. All of the DOHC kits I saw included only the 2 smooth pulleys, the toothed pulley, and the hydraulic tensioner with its pulley. Can anyone please enlighten me why this would be? And where can I get the missing 5th pulley? Thanks.
  2. I know there are many folks modifying their EA82-chassis Subarus for style or performance. Miata shocks with coilover sleeves, legacy and impreza coilover kits, etc. These all require some level of modification to install, an issue I've recently run into with my own project car. This lead me to develop a few parts to allow a bolt-in installation of a set of coilovers to the EA82 chassis. Without going into specifics my thought is a 12-piece kit to retrofit a set of coilovers for a legacy or late-model impreza coilover kit that would allow you to simply bolt the legacy/impreza parts to your 5-lug-swapped EA82, without cutting, drilling or welding anything, reusing all your original hardware. My question is, is this something that would interest you? I'm currently prototyping parts for myself, but if there is enough interest, I'll have some extras made at the same time. I've got a few photos up on my Instagram page: @templeoffuji
  3. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/gallery/image/3772-pilot-bearing-included-in-clutch-kit/ This pilot bearing was included in my clutch kit for my 1984 GL 4wd . . I did not take a part off the car like this... that I know of! The outside diameter is 16mm. Does the 1984 4wd GL use this bearing? I do not want to complete the engine installation, and then find that this should have been included in the assembly. Do I need it? More importantly, does my car need it?
  4. so i have an 86 ea82 gl wagon that i want to lift about 2 or 3 inches (for now) because my buddy just gave me his old toyo alloy wheels and tires and i want to cram them under my 4x4. ANYWAY, how bad for my car is a hockey puck lift, i've heard that they fail if you don't do it carefully but i feel like that is the case with any lift. thanks for your time.
  5. Now available again, my BOSS 3" EA81 lift kits are only $300 plus $30 shipping. These are made with the same high quality as any of my other lifts, and include all the necessary hardware for installation. Steering link not included, and you will have to provide new rear shocks, the same Rancho part number that many use for the 4" lifts also works on the 3" lifts. Shifter linkage and steering linkage will have to be modified. PM me or call (509) 391-5903 with questions or to order a lift. 4" and 6" lifts are also available, with pictures coming soon. -Bill
