hi, i just bought my subaru 5 months ago and I'm curious what i need to do to get the authentic subaru growl? I've heard that the new FA20 motor has a different set up and cannot achieve the authentic growl, is this true? I NEED HELP IM NEW AT THIS! -
Im new to subaru and i just got a 1995 subaru legacy wagon and its a shell. It is an automatic and im wondering how i can put a manual transmission instead and also what engine would go with which transmission. Again im new to the subaru life and this is my first car project ever so would anyone be able to help me how to start? -
Sup guys, i'm chris. i recently purchased a 92 loyale 3 speed auto 1.8ltr...no turbo. when i got it the guy had it @ his mechanics garage. he said the transmission was messed up. he was asking 550 but when we started it, it was throwing white smoke which indicated blown heads. i got it for $300 he said he & friends drove thru deep water & smoked ever since. we redid the heads with a few complications. it doesnt smoke. the rans didnt have any fluid for some reason? it smokes a lil bit when i turn corners now tho? i need to look into it more today, i think i tracked it down to leaking AT vaccuum modulator. the service history on it is 2 inchees thick. some old lady owned & was really ontop of it. why there was no tranny fluid makes me wonder once we get the drivetrain 100% its getting a 4 inch lift & tires to fit.

hello my name is mike ,i'm from IL and have just purchased my first Subaru,2001 outback $600.00 bed head gaskets. $200.00 and 8 hours of labor its back on the road. I also gasket matched and ported the intake,cylinder head and exhaust manifolds, are there any other quick and easy mods I can do that any knows of to get a little more pep out of the motor?
