I own a 99 subaru forester s and am in need of a solution to my worn out seats. I have the beige leather heated seats in the car and the front seats have cracking and tears in them. What can I do? I've seen leather repair kits but for the matching dye and everything it's 70+ dollars and I'm skeptical about the results. Is their any way I could get replacement oem seats for the car or is there any good aftermarket seats out there that would fit and match nicely? I'm not looking for race bucket seats just some comfortable daily driving seats. Any suggestions are appreciated -
Front seats for 88 GL 3 door hatchback?

anybody out there have any advice to offer? seats from my other 88GL wagon don't fit, but thats a 4 door. Are there aftermarket mounting adaptors kits or something like that available? -
I'd like to swap out the driver's seat for something newer and more comfy. I don't care what it looks like but I don't want to do a lot of modification. Are there any particular seats I should consider looking for at the PnP? I DID managed to add some comfort to the butt-pad part of the stock seat a few years back by trading the butt-pad from the passenger side seat however newer car seats are much more comfortable on my blobby shape. It's the same pad, but(t) you just need to switch the plastic trim to the other side. Historically I have not been shy about periodically removing the seats/backs, taking them to the DIY carwash and pressure sudsing then rinsing them. Same with the carpet. Funky smells be gone! ### -
HI, I have a 1998 Outback that I'd like to replace the drivers seat cushion. The fabric is still in good condition but the pad is worn/broken down. I called the dealer and was give part number 64220AC500 and told it was discontinued. by the way the cost of the discontinued cushion was over $300. There is another part number of 64220AC520 for $96 that they told me would not fit my VIN. Does anyone know the difference between the 2 part numbers and has anyone tried it? I saw other posts of people buying the pad from the junk yard or swapping the passenger seat pad but all the ones I can find are in just as bad of shape. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks! -
This writeup is for the Third Gen Subaru Leone, a.k.a: "Loyale" or "EA82" etc, but the ideas given here might work, with some changes, to other vehicles as well. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Have you ever felt the Seat on your Subie like a Rocking Chair? The Subaru EA82 GL has a Complicated Air Conditioner Distribution Design, which includes a couple of Ducts under the Front Seats, one ends there to deliver Air to the Rear Passenger's Feet, and the other Duct delivers Air to the Rear Doors' Windows; this last Duct, passes through one of the Front seat supports, weakening its structure somehow. The Weakest Front Seat Support, is the one located at the Rear of them, next to the point where the Seat Belt Anchors; there is the A/C Duct passing in the middle of said Support. I've seen some local Subies with those Supports Broken, especially the Driver's side one, and the owners didn't knew the reason why their Driver's side seat was loose and / or way too much reclined to the Back... (when said support is not only Broken, but also Deformed for using it like that) ...I Bet that many Subie owners could have same issue on their cars, without even knowing, nor completely noticing it. So, that support on the Driver's Side in my Subaru "BumbleBeast" has broken for the Second Time... I Know: I am a Big Guy, 6' tall and over 110 Kg driving an Old Subie Wagon with Hardened "Reinforced" suspension, so the autogenous welding I did a couple of years ago to simply put that broken support together, will never last too much... so this was the Perfect Time to Reinforce that Seat Support and permanently getting Rid from that problem. -
Random question... Does anyone know what you would call that bracket on the side of a front seat in a first-gen Legacy with the automatic seatbelts? My bracket on the driver's side is broken, but I can't figure out the right words to search for to find a replacement. It's just right on the outside edge of the seat, right where the seat back meets the seat bottom. The lap belt runs through it (it's a flat loop-shaped plastic bracket), and when you slide the seat forwards or backwards, that loop holds on to the end of the seatbelt so that you can grab it. That's the piece I'm talking about. Thanks
