Well spoob. I have a 2001 Limited Edition Outback. Just a beautiful car and I love it. Tensioner failed at about 70 mph and the timing belt snapped. Multiple valve damage. My mechanic is doing the following: Pulled the motor and removed the heads. Sending heads to professional machine shop to be taken care of and made perfect. New water pump, pulleys, tensioners, high performance valve cover gaskets, timing belt of course. He specializes in Subarus and is able to replace the valves by hand, which I know not all people can do. Looking forwards to having my baby run better than she did when I bought her. Am I forgetting anything? Anyone else going this route??
