OhChit
Does anyone know or have experience on Reversing the Intake Manifold on a Subaru 2.2 The engine is currently in my 1966 VW Beetle and the Air Intake faces forward, and due to space requirements I'm thinking of reversing the Intake manifold so it faces towards the rear. I’m told this can be done by reversing the Intake 180 degrees, but not sure if it’s as easy as just reversing the Intake or does it also involve doing something with the heads? If it matters the engine is a 1994 Subaru 2.2 Thanks

Marnix
Yes, you can reverse the manifold, will bolt straight up. Check for clearance of fuel lines and / or fuel pressure regulator and as said above, reposition alternator.
Nug
I have another engine that is immaculate. I'm polishing it up, making it pretty. I plan on putting it in this weekend. I need to be driving the sob.
OhChit
Thanks for the assisatance, and help. When reversering the intake, can I just swing the intake 180 degrees, or do I have to do anything with the heads? I can relocate the Alternator and provide for mounting brackets for it. I have no need for power steering so that is where the Alternator will go. I just need to be SURE that I can just swing the Intake 180 degrees with out disturbing the heads?????????
