rbourne3 Posted October 2, 2009 Share Posted October 2, 2009 I build and ride vw trikes. I use the type 4 motor which already makes me unusual in the trike world. I'm thinking about adapting a subie motor to the vw transaxle. Just popping in to see how much I have to learn. I can tell you everything I know about the subie motor in twenty words. The ea81 adapts well, but is getting older and scarcer. The ea82 is a little more common, but still getting hard to find. The 2.2s require a brain box and are more difficult to adapt.
