GeneralDisorder
The spring and it's wax-expansion valve need to be exposed to the hot side to work correctly. That would be the side opposite the radiator hose. GD
Uberoo
was able to figure it out.the old Tstat was an aftermarket that someone installed backwards... put a 180* thermostat from a chevy. between that and the legacy radiator it runs cool.still has awesome heat especially cause i cleaned out the heater core.. So you installed a 180* Thermo in? Now ok, it runs cool. But running the engine too cool will cause issues (never getting the engine up to operation temp isn't the best) I run a 192* in my EA82 Seems to work just fine (Even in extream hot in stop and go traffic, gauge onlys gets to half way mark during that) -Tom
