coolskaterkid Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 84 gl ea81 Electric fans dont kick on until 3/4 up the gauge, i would think they kick on just above half to bring them down to half. GeneralDisorder Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 The stock gauge is merely a rough guess at the actual temp. They are notorious for reading high. Get a laser temp gun and check the inlet/outlet temps of the radiator. Chances are that if the fans go on/off at regular intervals then there is nothing wrong other than a poorly reading guage or bad sending unit.
