TheLoyale Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 (edited) Anyone know if theres a company that makes Drilled/Slotted Rotors for the EA82? I'm thinking next spring to change out mine since they have a slight worp in them and are starting to crumble. Is there such a thing as an upgraded rotor thats a direct fit? Also, looking for low brake dust/ low espestos pads and shoes aswell. I know they make them, just dunno what brands do. Casue I'm getting tired of all this excesive dust. I just figured it would incress stopping power (But its not a performance vehicle, like you said) Wonder how much genuine rotors are? mudduck Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 I got rotors a few years back from advance or orielys, and they weren't expensive at all. They are holding up just fine. As far as pads go, I have always gone with the ones that fall in the middle as far as price. The cheap ones go quick, and the expensive ones are, well, expensive, and these aren't race cars. TahoeFerrari Posted October 5, 2009 Share Posted October 5, 2009 Like the man said, there's not much of anything "performance" about or available for an EA82 Subaru. One thing that will help stopping power is to replace the rear drum brakes with disc brakes if you haven't already done so. You won't notice much difference during normal brakeing, but under hard brakeing the rear wheels won't lock up nearly as easily with the discs and thus you'll have better stops without the rear wheels sliding. They seem to create less dust that metalics and don't wear out rotors as fast. I think there are ceramic pads available for the front, but I haven't tried them (yet). Hehe. I understand you arn't aware of them being white (Just razzing thats all) :-p TF, Yes thats what we have on the Blazer Ceramic pads. presslab Posted October 6, 2009 Share Posted October 6, 2009 I installed some cheap $13 rotors from AutoZone and I warped them in about a month.
