Deep River = Electrical Problems. Oh Yay.

G'day guys!

Yesterday I had the brilliant idea of going goldpanning with my brother in his Brumby (Thats a brat to all you non-New Zealanders!) and my Omega (basically an 89 loyale/dl/yada yada). Crossed about six fords (all up to the bonnet, go Subaru! ) and on the last one the old girl ended up with water in the dizzy. Got the front wheels on the dry ground before she died! ;P

Anyways, I've got an unusual predicament; Whenever I hit the brakes, my left indicator glows. No ticking like normal, just glows. Now isn't really the safest (or the most police friendly) thing to happen when driving around the town, but I can't figure out where the hell the two would cross. I've checked in the taillight for water bridging the two, but nothing got wet inside the lenses. Anyone have any idea on what the hell happened? I'm no electrical genius, and I'm stumped.

Gotta be water in there somewhere, right?

Agreed.. Either lost it in the light assembly itself, or where it plugs into the main harness that feeds the back.

The ground (earth) point for the rear lights is behind the 1st side panel from the tailgate. Here in the States, it's on the rightside standing at the rear of the BRAT.

Pull the light assembly and the panels and check all of the connections. You can pull the other assembly out, plug it into the "bad" side and see if it works right. That will narrow it down the the assembly itself.

Thanks guys, turned out it fixed itself today while I was driving home for work. Must have just been wet.

Shame about the bloody carpet! The whole rump roast end of the car filled up with about 3 inches of water. Had to rip all the seats out just to get the bloody soaking carpet out of the car. Great

Will get some pictures up soon!
