Mechanical_misfit Posted October 12, 2009 Share Posted October 12, 2009 This is the reaction I normally get from local salvage yards reguarding parts for my `87 Gl 3 door. These cars are extinct in MI. I've been driving the wheels off my 98 ob 5speed, and I'm in the process of Lifting a 98 OB sport, but my real love is for my `87. It's Probably Past its prime, but I still imagine myself climbing behind the wheel and dominating the trails like I know it could. The problem is, my rear sub frame lost its battle to rust July 4 2008, when it saw one to many jumps at Silver Lake ORV park. I could go on and on, but I digress. Is there anyone else in MI who hasn't given up on the Old EA cars? And if so, would anyone happen to have a solid shell they would sell, or even a rear subfreezing/suspension assy? The Ob is great, but I cant rev it to 8,000 rpm and dump the clutch and break the tires loose like that little `87.... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

None of the yards around me have anything for these older ones. Seeing an EA-81 or EA-82 on the road around here is far and few between. Haven't seen one in awhile now. I know of only one other BRAT in the three counties around me. Not sure what all broke on yours, but maybe you could rebuild the area by welding in some flat steel.
