Recommended Posts

I went there today! Its about 20 miles east of Madison right on Highway 12. Its about a 40 mile drive one way from Waukesha to Cambridge. Awesome place. 800+ Subarus, he has about 20 some EA82s one was a White RX coupe (Rotted) a few DLs the rest were GLs, wagons and Sedans. He has 2 or 3 Brats, about 10 EA81s. 9 XTs, a few Justys. and the rest are EJ gens, has a few first gen Legos. Just was in aww as I pulled in.

Heres what I saw,

He sells Subarus aswell that run and are drivable. I forgot to ask if he had any older subarus that arn't totaly rotted that I can buy. I'll have ot go back soon :)

Amazing place, first time I went to a Junk yard. and it was great! What I picked up was, the cover for the fusable link box, a new 4WD fuse box, two GL map lights (Both light new) ones gray, and ones blue. Anyone need or want the blue one? Lemme know :) I also for got to pick up the RXs grill, I was gonna remove it and take it but walk away Lol. Damn, I'm sure it will be there next time :)

Also here are the two Maplights

Why not, theres a board member (Forgot who) that has a XT called Frankenwedge LOL.

-Tom

that's Huck.

my wagon was known as the Frankenwagon for many years.

did you see how the rust was on any of the XTs? specifically either (looks like there might be 2...) of the silver ones?

I really need to call that guy to see what he wants for some XT body parts. I really need to get mine up and running ASAP.

Oh yea you have the Frankenwagon lol.

Yep there are 2 silver ones (Might be another can't remember) but there isn't really any rust on the body (Dunno about the underside since its been sitting in tall grass for who knows how long)

What do you need?

I was there YEARS ago. I am happy to have the yards I have here in Denver now. I wish he would have placed the cars on some pavement and on blocks to prevent all the corrosion.

+1 to that. its kinda hard ot get under them if you needed to, most of them the tires have sunken into the ground. Oh well, its his business not mine.

there would be no reason to get under these at this point, due to the rust. Nothing under there is worth reusing, unless you like tissue paper thin metals on your driver.

They were most likely already rusted when he put them there to begin with (this is the midwest guys) the only reason we park them like this is when they rust in half from salt.

Maybe, I dunno. some of these didn't look half bad. These XTs didn't see to rotted nor was the Brat with the cap on it. I did see one EA81 wagon where you could see thru the rocker!

But I think people seem to give up on them where they weren't all that bad. Who knows.

I absolutely need a passenger side fender and headlight. but would be up for a new-style bumper, hood and other fender as well, depending on price/condition.

i have been there twice. the first time, the guy invited me in and showed me his shop, chattes soobs for better than an hour.

the next time i went, he didnt give me the time of day, and wanted way too much, and stressed the point how he can make thousands off one outback selling parts to dealers, abd the old ea's are dinosuars.

from what i have seen, he his making his money on new soobs, not doing anything with the old ones, and they just sit there, because who would have the heart to crush all them soobs!

the new soobs turn around quick. there are parts on the shelf for ea81/82's if what you need is already on the shelf. he brings them in one at a time for parts, so this means any in the yard are as complete as they came in, with titles.

if he let you in the yard and pull your own parts, consider it a honor and a true privilege as he has been sed for liability on more than one occasion. you may very ell have the 'in' with this guy to go pull parts.

he only deals with subaru dealers and doesnt bother or take the time to deal over the internet.

if you are in there pulling your own parts, you will own the ebay market for ea81/82 soobs

congratulations!

Miles, huh that seems strange. Maybe he was having a bad day? that happens :)

He was really kind this time! I didn't even need to sign a waiver. I think he trusts me, I'm not just a dumb kid, I know my sh1t and I think that pleases him :) He even gave me a ride in a first gen Outback from one side of the yard to the other on a search for Brown EA81 window cranks. and yea we found them :) Was funny, I'm dinking with a Brat and he pulls up and says "Howdy hey!" and and asks if I'm finding everything, I said yea, except for the window cranks. He says hop in, I much oblidge do. Then we talk some, and its good we can relate on alot of things. So he's nice and so is his wife and the yonger guy working there (David) he was dropping in an EJ25 into a '04 OB. Mike (owner) said you don't bother replacing HGs on this motor, juts drop a new one in (I'm thinking, he can blow that out his rump roast) other then that everyones cool.

I snagged a Rudy colored RX grill, wiring for maplight, 2 EA81 window cranks.
