andrewmiller Posted November 13, 2009 Share Posted November 13, 2009 I have got a 1997 Subaru Impreza Sport and the heat shield rattles really bad in between shifts and when i accelerate hard, i was thinking i could either weld it or hose clamp it. They protect the hot exhaust from debree and help keep the pipes warm Why do people go for the tough solutions and not the easy ones first? Two words. Hose Clamps. imprezaII Posted November 13, 2009 Share Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) The heat sheilds were also loose on my Impreza . All you need is some good stainless steel hose clamps, from a parts store , then fasten them snug . Try to keep the gear tightening part up , so as not to snag road debris . Good luck P.S. stainless clamps last a long time , had one on my Ford Bronco II for 5 years....
