Phizinza
Are the rear axles for the stubless diffs same left and right? And are they interchangeable to limited slip diffs? Or do the LSD's different and use different axles?
lmdew
Depends on what years you are talking. Saying All is a big qualifier.
Phizinza
Like 95 to 05, Forester, Legacy, Outback. I know the axles are most likely different lengths but I'm more interested in the splined stub fitting in the diff and the difference of those stubs if they are different... monstaru
all r160'zs will be the same....whether or not the chunk is bolted , or circlipped is the definitive challenge...... the chunks for the vlsd's are circlipped...the old school clutch pack chunks are bolted, because they had stubs.........and will take the circlip axle, just no way to adhere it to the chunk..... does that make sense? cheers, brian
Phizinza
Yes, that's what I thought I knew already. Kinda wanting to know if the circlip on each side is in the same place. Like can a left axle go in the right side of the diff and are all the circlipped diffs (LSD or open, old or new) the same (as in are the circlips always in the same spot)? I know its a complex question.... lol
