bgambino
I an am/fm cass (I think it has a cass..?) in my 96 OB wagon I want to upgrade with another OEM with a CD player What fits? How about this 6 disc unit?
lmdew
It should plug right in. You will loose the compartment below the radio.
GeneralDisorder
Confirm - all the Legacy's have double-din capability. Just remove the pocket if it's so-equipped. GD
coldfusion21
Can one replace the ash tray with the pocket?
Fairtax4me
Can one replace the ash tray with the pocket? If you have the capacity to do that type of custom work then anything is possible. But as a direct swap no it won't work without custom work, or a ghetto rig.
wtdash
That looks just like the WRX 6-disc player I installed in my '97 OB. Direct fit, but lost the compartment below AND the clock, if it matters to you. GL, TD
idosubaru
Can one replace the ash tray with the pocket?no, you'll see when you go to do it. i mean you could fabricate something, in that case you can do whatever you want....install a leather interior, custom dash, diesel motor....but no it's not a bolt in. imprezaII
Put one in my 96 Impreza ,out of a 2002 WRX STI , looks just your unit, a true plug and play. It will fit like it was always there.

Because of that, I am going to a salvage yard tomorrow, so I can find a clock from something and then fit it in somewhere. Will let you know what could work and how . I am thinking find a clock from another car like acura integra and mount it somewhere or even below the radio! Just not sure how to run power to it and such. Was able to go today to the salvage yard . Found something from a 2007-08 Accent . Clock sits between the 4 Way flashers and rear window Defrost switches. The wiring instructions are marked on the back of the clock next to the plug , later tonight I will take the filler panel out from under the radio and see what I can design .
