ajlong
My 93 Legacy is occasionally showing the BRAKE light and the battery icon. I remember being told that my alternator is getting ready to, or has failed. Took my car to a local supply house, had an alternator check performed, and all is normal. I was pondering taking her to a local electrical specialist. Am I on the right track? Any input would be appreciated. AJ
GeneralDisorder
Means the alternator is putting out AC = bad diode bridge. Could be intermittant - sometimes they are. Replace the alt and go from there. It's the only thing that will cause warning lamps to illuminate though. AC will defeat the diode's in the illumination circuits of the cluster - about the only way those will come on is if you have a bad alt or your really do have the brake on. Rooster2
EZ to replace an alternator yourself, if you are half way decent with hand tools. If you need specific instructions, just ask.
GeneralDisorder
I could train a chimp to replace an EJ alternator. It's three bolts.... all of which are the same size GD
