Numbchux
I think he's referring to searching with your eyes. right now, the 8th thread in this section answers most of your question already: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=106175 all subaru rear ends are r160s (except the new STis which use an r180). so they're interchangeable. GD mentioned recently that the rear hanger studs are slightly different, so you might want to use the EA82 rear cover. as for what gear ratios came in what: http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs/trannychart/trannychart.html

one eye
You can call me an rump roast too if you want, but For you your best bet is to. 1) Put and Axle in 2)Replace your Trans. With the stock 4 speed 3)keep your EA81 in it 4)Use the search button / Dive into a project and Figure it out I put and EA81 in an EA82 car, I didnt ask 5 billion questions along the way, I did research and did it, you'll figure things out as you go, or end up selling the parts for it and then the rig............. Also you need to drop your crossmember in your car if you havn't, EA81 axles cant take the angle like an EA82.................... I've wheeled years with an 82 Brat and 4" lift, there is no reason to try and do all these things with your knowledge your in over your head. Uberoo
I feel luffed. Im looking into a possible transfer case lift sometime in the future to keep my butt from getting soaked... Right now Im looking at the cost of EJ swap vs Tcase lift. One hand I have the power to spin the tires to gearing is a moot point.Other hand,I have the gearing to spin the tires so power is moot... Markus56
Don't drive into deep puddles if you don't want to get wet. or invest in a dry suit. or just do a 4 inch lift and save yourself a lot of trouble. Ask the board members who build them, and i am sure that they will be willing to help if you are nice about it. Sure, t-cases are great, but they are a lot of work for something that works fine. when you get some money together, just invest in a dual range 5 speed. that combined with your EA-81 it is like having a T-case, but with a lot less work. One eye has that setup and it works great. I can think of one instance where everyone who tried a particular hillclimb broke axles, including a t-cased rig EXCEPT one eye. And with the T-case, you will still break stuff; its part of the deal

3eyedwagon
Wasn't this very same thread (with almost identical responses) posted last month or the month before? http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=105967 Yup. He was incapable of basic research skills back then as well. I thought what made us human was our ability to ask why, and how. These incessant threads make me question that more, and more every day. I would liken the experience of reading these mind-numbing threads to a crackhead 7 days into a wicked run. On one hand I know they are slowly killing me, on the other; I just have to suck on that lightbulb, and see what happens. Just one more time.... If anyone here cares to get pissy about what I have to say.... that'd be you Uberoo.... I have one thing to say. PROVE ME WRONG. Shut up, and just show me that you are capable of doing ANYTHING other than making annoying threads, and asking the same stupid questions OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER, and OVER. Just make something. ANYTHING. Just this once. Just for the record; that last part was just as useful as the questions you ask. Have a good day.
