I don't believe it's just a single year though - the 99-2002..or whenever the last year for the EJ22 was should all be Phase II and interchangeable with minor adaptations if any at all. If you're familiar with the Phase I motors, it's really easy to tell just by looking, the newer ones look a good bit different, it's not like it's "hard to tell".
