johnceggleston
i don't know for sure, but i doubt that they make a 2" hitch for a subaru. they might, but i can't imagine .... but you can get a standard 1 & 1/4 inch and then add a 2" adapter. MtnBikerChk
?? I installed a hidden hitch on my 97, it was very easy. I just dont understand what you mean by 2" aside from the reciever. The Hitches on the link say they are 2" yeah, 2" receiver as opposed to 1 1/4. My bike rack is a Thule T2 - designed for a 2" opening. The part that makes me nervous is this: Also, all three say "Exhaust must be temporarily lowered for installation, Minor heat shield modification may be required." Although I'm not doing it myself - I'd get help......
Scoobywagon
The exhaust rides right up against the uniframe, so you just disconnect a couple of the exhaust hangers so you can work. Then you reconnect them back up when you're done working on it.
backwoodsboy
+1 on the rubber exhaust hangers. Not a big deal for the DIYer. Just be glad you got the Outback. The 09 & 10 Foresters... you have to remove the rear bumper cover and reinforcement to install the hitch. :-\
