Ricearu
IHI- RHB5 just PLEASE don't boost the piss out of it. It WILL grenade. I guess you don't have any experience with old subie's. If you want to run an assload of boost, put a built EJ in it and call it a day. The EA82t (what is in there now) is made of paper mache and really only turbo'd for efficiency. For performance add an intercooler for starters. Research this board. use the search button. IT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND HERE. Lowering... research. I think miata coilovers fit the rear.. Search. MilesFox
the original turbo in this car is IHI rhb5 water cooled unit. A tdo4 will mostly fit if you modify a mounting stud, and you use a wrx downpipe i know of one particular XT ('monsterwedge from http://www.subaruxt.com) that has a vf39 turbo from a legacy, on a TWE uppipe(one of some 15 made, special order) if you want to lowe this car properly, swap out the front struts for a FWD subaru XT, and rear struts from a 4wd xt. if you source an xt6 for parts, you can convert to 5 lug and mix and match wrx parts for suspension
GeneralDisorder
The turbo is an IHI VF7. Lowering is a whole discussion to itself. Check out the retrofitting forum. As mentioned some Miata parts can be used. There are other methods though and the best methods involve using (quality) aftermarket adjustable coil-overs and they aren't cheap. And yes - don't turn up the boost. Just add an intercooler and make sure you go over the cooling system very well. Heat is the primary enemy of your engine. Sonicfrog
I just want to say... That is the PRETTIEST GL-10 bonnet I've ever seen!!!! What does the rest of the car look like?

vagen
I agree with GD I have an EA82t powered car and I have removed the boost controller. I am intercooled and have both intake and exhaust. my car sees 12 psi with no boost controller. Stock turbo (with a ported wastegate), Ford SVO intercooler (top mount) TWE down pipe and a custom cold air intake. if you make the whole system more efficient you will unleash trapped power an intercooler (water to air would be great for stealth) is the first thing one should do on one of these engines. eulogious
Or you can be like me, and just run it BONE stock! These things aren't race cars, it's a wagon! I know the RX is different, but for us wagon owners, I am just happy that I have 20 more hp and 30 more ft lbs of torque over stock. These things run fine stock, just remember that it's a 20 year old wagon and be happy it's got some, although small, balls BTW that is a very clean engine. I am kinda jealous of that... 87.5ea82txt
my car sees 12 psi with no boost controller. Why or how is that? Did you make a mod to do make it boost higher or are you saying with the flow mods that it naturally wants boosts higher because its that much more efficient? I've got the same mods as you except for the ported wastegate. The last thing I've done is, because I didn't like the bend in the reducer hose between the compressor exducer and the inlet on the ford intercooler, I rotated the compressor housing about 20 degrees. This setup now flows more than it ever has and now wants to boost around 12 psi. The only explanation I can come up with is that when I moved the wastegate actuator when I rotated the compressor it must have been a little off and is either binding or compressing the spring a little more. But if your saying its because its just flowing better than I may not have any problems at all. So do you run this car with that much boost all the time? Is that ok now that the ea82t flows better or should I attempt to lower it closer to stock?
vagen
if you don't know the condition of your engine I would drop it closer to stock. My car is hitting 8psi then creeping up to 12 as RPM climbs toward redline. When I had the boost controller it would hi 12psi and stay there. I lost the return port for the boost controller when I built the intake so I removed the controller.
