idosubaru
you can do whatever you want. tank tracks on your subaru, yes it can (and has) been done. you're only limited by your abilities, so we can't really help without some more feedback. you want something along the lines of changing a light bulb or you ready for some welding and cutting and have lots of experience? you doing the work or paying for it? Turbone
The rear diff wont work unless it matches the final drive ratio of your tranny. And there have been lots of swaps done with a EG33 into other Soobs. Not sure if there are any threads here about it, but I know there are over at Nasioc. I like this. I want to see someone install a EG33 in a BRAT. That would ROCK

Numbchux
yep, possible, and been done. IIRC, SVXs use 3.545 rear diffs, which are available in other AT cars as well (I know AT WRXs for sure....possibly others). contrary to some belief, SVXs use r160 rear ends, NOT r180s. so it's the same case as almost all other subarus. issue is the axles (as is the case with any r160 rear VLSD). there are a few different styles of axles, and they are always different than the axles used in cars with open diffs. Problem is, SVXs use the larger hubs/bearings with the 5x114.3 lug pattern, so the outer axles aren't compatible with the more common 5x100 hubs. There's a chance that you could find axles out of another car with a VLSD rear (RS? JDM cars, etc.) that would work, but I can't confirm that. You might also be able to swap the inner axle cups from the SVX axles onto other EJ Axles, I know this is possible onto XT6 axle shafts, and I was planning on doing that into my XT6, but again, almost impossible to guarantee whether that will work or not until you get stuff torn apart. kiwi subbie
I like this.I want to see someone install a EG33 in a BRAT. That would ROCK That has been done a few times... atleast one guy in Oz and I think one in England. I had planned to do this on my old brumby but desided to sell project before I went too hard core. It would evolve alot of work. lots of cutting.. I did get told you could put the EG33 in with out cutting any thing... But saying that I couldnt see how you could. The motor is very wide and long. I know one of the guys moved the raditor to the back behind the cab. It would be good to see another one done tho
Turbone
Wow, that sucker is really shoehorned in there I'm impressed, I've pulled a couple of these engines and know what its like to work with them. It looks like he made a extended grill of some sort to gain clearance. It actually looks like it fits better than the ER27.
