torxxx
Anyone drill out the mixture screw on a ea82 hitachi? I had to do it to pass I'm and I've messed with the mixture so many times trying to get it to run right, I lost count of how many turns each way..... Does this mixture adjustment effect all fuel flow, or just at an idle? I'm running at stock timing.. 8 degrees and my plug tips are a lil white. Can I advance my timing to say 10 degrees to make up for it being too rich?
RickOregon
Hey Torxxx, First off, I'm not a Hitachi carb expert or carb expert of any sort, but I was reading in a Haynes manual the other day, and I believe the mixture screw you're talking about is for idle only. Others will correct me, if this is wrong.. However, I think I saw something in there (don't have it handy right now) about adjusting secondary valve based on the angle setting of the primary choke. Maybe I've got it wrong, but I think some adjustment to cruise speed air/fuel mixture can be accomplished using that procedure. I haven't tried it yet, but maybe others have.. For what that's worth, Rick
