JacksonRally
Hey guys its been almost 6 months since I've been on here. In short I've been very busy racking up the miles on my wagon and with life in general but now I am tearing it down again. I like to enjoy driving for awhile but then I always get to the point to where I want to do more to it. More importantly I am in the market for an older Subaru. I don't know much about the older ones but I know I want a 2 door hatch, something from the 80's? So I will have a ton of questions. Kyle
Yo'J
Hi Ya, The wagons are fairly easy to come across for free or cheap and the hatches are a little more rare, they have mostly been scrapped or bombed through the woods. So good luck, I'm sure you can find a clean one. Whatcha gonna do? I've seen your work, what are we gonna drool over next?
JacksonRally
Well with some help from Zap I've narrowed my search down to a 85-89 Hatch D/R GL I really want a hatch. I'm even willing to piece one together. I found a clean 2wd, and could maybe find a beat 4x and do some swapping. Either way I'm gonna try to hold out for a hatch. lkindred
Welcome. Good luck with the search for the Hatch. I totally understand wanting one I have an 86 Hatch and I love it. Don't think I will ever get rid of it.
ezapar
4X swap is all bolt on, 100%, I did it on my coupe. It's not that difficult to do. I'm not sure you'd even have to swap out the tank to fit the diff with a 4 inch lift. But you could always put a jack under the tank and create a dent where needed. lol
