The Dude Abides
Just curious how common this is. My brothers legacy only takes 12 gallons to fill up when it is just above E. So my question is there a reserve fuel system in this car or do the fuel gauges tend to go south on these. Or is the tank full of crud. EVOthis
well it is a 15.9 gallon tank...I would say that's somewhat normal..My 96 Legacy is the same way...

bheinen74
you can usually drive around with them on E for quite some time to actually empty the tank. This sounds normal. The only way to put in 15g is to gas up after its at least exactly on the empty line, or if you run it out. the reserve tank is like almost a gallon i believe.
