floortom
just bought a nice 82 brat w/ 6" lift, 90% done. Has broke left side cv broke @ trans side, just installed new one. It seems that it should be enlongated, i dont want to break the cage on the new one. Can you help me from trashing new axle? thanks floortom. mountaingoatgruff
sounds like maybe your struts have more lift than your crossmember. are the blocks on the struts & crossmembers all 6"?
floortom
i just got the rig , and ive not had chance at anything. the camber is horrable and will need new tower blocks, as these are strait. Will that compensate for the lack of length? thanks floortom
Qman
Unfortunately, without seeing the rig we are more clueless than you on this one. Pics maybe?
GeneralDisorder
Fixing the tower blocks and correcting the camber can only help matters for sure, but if you want to use stock axles then you are going to have to retain (more or less) the original relationship between the transmission and the knuckle. So I would climb under it and start checking some dimentions to see what, if anything, has been changed as the body was raised up off the suspension and drivetrain. In essence it's a body lift - you just need to keep the relationship between the trans and knuckle reasonable as you lift the body up. GD
