sanjay_floyd
Hi, I have a subaru sedan a 2.5L non turbo. I would like to do all the modifications required to convert my sedan to a off road rally car. Is there any website which can guide me or give me a direction to do all the necessary modifications? http://www.motorimage.com.sg/MIG/showroom/?pg=GroupN Thanks,
GeneralDisorder
Buy a turbo car first. A lot less work that way. Start by stripping the car to the chassis and seam welding/gusseting it. That should take you a while. Remove and discard the entire interior except parts of the dash. Weld the rear doors shut, pull the glass/regulators and install plexi. Install a full cage and either a single bucket seat for the driver or a pair for driver and co-driver. Replace every rubber drivetrain mount with hard mounts or urethane, and replace the suspension with aftermarket adjustable. Install a 2.0 turbo built for about 300 to 320 HP along with a dog-box transmission to handle the abuse. That should leave you pretty close. FIA has similar rules for events outside the US, which may be more useful for you. http://www.specialstage.com - The forums and classifieds here will be helpful. http://www.nasioc.com - This is a forum for Imprezas. http://www.writerguy.com/primitive/nwrallyschool.htm - It's important to upgrade the driver too, so here's a link to a rally school. If you're willing to dump enough money to rally prep a car, you may as well learn how to drive it:) Jacob
