Pennies Earned
Driving down the street and all of a sudden I hear this sudden constant rattling under the hood. Open the hood and the radiator fan isn't spinning and is shaking violently. I turn off the engine and inspect the belts which seem fine, but the radiator fan is just hanging loose. Whats the scoop? GeneralDisorder
Either it came off, or the water pump is shot. GD
Pennies Earned
I called and got a quote for a new water pump and thermostat. The shop I contacted quoted me $350-400 dollars. Does that seem a little steep?

GeneralDisorder
You should have the timing belts done at the same time as the labor is the same. Belt and tensioner sets can be had on ebay for $75 or less. Do the labor yourself and you can have it done for under $100. GD
