bigo1966
So now that the sedamn has a very low range, the weak link is the rear axles/diff. Any thoughts/comments on possibly taking a toyota 3.9 IFS front diff and axles with hubs and mating all that crap to the subaru components? Or what about stronger subaru components? I searched and didn't find much. Edited January 20, 2010 by bigo1966
SubyGl
might look for parts from rally suby's.
Turbone
might look for parts from rally suby's. What do you think they use? My Hatch is running 4.11 front and rear with 30in tires. I have broken some rear axles but no stubs yet. If you dont have alot of angle to the axles, it shouldnt be much of a problem.
The Beast I Drive
With my stock gears and 31" tires and welded rear diff, the Beast eats stubs like candy if I goose it at the wrong time. I have never broken a rear axles, it was always the stubs that go. Wheelspin is what makes them break, with your low gearing you should be able to keep that under control. I would wheel it with the stock stuff first, and if it cant handle it then maybe try an R180 rear diff or something. Or solid axle... -Bill
one eye
I've busted everything in the rear od my wheeler, just keep off the skinny pedal and you should be in the clear... Jeff
