Mechanical_misfit
I have not done a huge amount of searching over usmb, but ive given Google its shot. Im wondering about go fast parts for my 99 OB 2.5 5mt. I run this vehicle on the street, and plan to do a fair amount of sand dune running this summer and into the future. I am looking for bolt on performance stuff, and cheap is always good. I am, however, not afraid to spend money for quality parts. Any help with locating vendors would be awesome. thanks, MM
Olnick
Nice pic, MM. Lights blazing, sand flying. It looks so . . . Out Back!
Subaru_dude
Eaton M62 Supercharger. Search google. That's not exactly cheap, but the whine of a supercharger is priceless.
WRX2FFU
For direct bolt on there is headers, exhaust and intake. Cams as well. Plus port the crap out of everything. The best option minus the eaton is to do a wrx swap. IMHO the best power adder ever. Pricey but it can be done on a budget. rs25.com is a good resource for swapped obs's. Good luck! 2.5GL
Your best bet when searching is to look for parts for Legacy GTs and early Impreza 2.5 RS. Struts from earlier legacys and imprezas 95 or so through 04/5 will fit if you want to lower it. A set-up I have seen used is a set of WRX struts and Tein lowering springs. It makes the car nice and low, running 17s and not rubbing. If you do any degree of engine work, make sure you take the time to install and use a tuning device such as "Perfect Power" or something of the sort. You will then be able to utilize the performance goodies to their best advantage. IMO, Swapping a WRX engine in may not be best suited if you wish to run off-road. the power comes on too late, and torque is not available very low in the RPM range. I am sure somebody will attest otherwise. Perhaps how it is tuned will affect the outcome. http://www.rallitek.com/ http://www.get-primitive.com/ http://mrtperformance.com.au/ http://www.pdxtuning.com/ Edited January 20, 2010 by 2.5GL
