SoobGoob
hey so if you all have not seen my wanted ad i am looking for a gl10 i found one i might buy but its an auto so i would swap a dr in it but before i do another auto to manual swap what are the key differences in the clusters for the ea82 digi. just the rpnd21 for the autos? or are the clusters the same between the two. the swap isnt that bad but i dont want to do another cluster swap or try to track down a 4x4 non ft4x4 5spd digi cluster. T'subaru
What year? I just picked up an '86 gl 5 spd w/digi. I have '89 fsm's but digi's are different.

Gloyale
is your 86 ea82? i guess all im asking is if i do an auto to manual swap do i have to swap digi clusters? im sure i do but hoped i didnt No you don't need to. Unless seeing the unused PRND21 bothers you. And actually, you will want to pull the light from the "N" display. This is because if you wire in you're neutral switch properly, it will light that light every time you aren't in Neutral. GeneralDisorder
Dude! Is that my car in your avatar? Lol. Anyway - yeah - if you swap the tranny the dash will work fine other than not having the "Lo" range indicator and never illuminating the auto gear indicators. You could likely wire up the 4WD lamp without much trouble. Also - as Gloyale points out with the neutral switch - you will need a D/R from an SPFI car in order for it to even have the nuetral switch. Otherwise you'll have to fake it with a clutch pedal switch. Haven't seen you around here much lately. You should drop by sometime when you get the car. SoobGoob
i might be looking at a gl10 auto today, and i will make sure to get a spfi 5spd this time. i dont want the check engine like last time. and yea thats the sport sedan all right. GD by any chance do you have an extra set of ej22t exhaust manis?(iremember having two not sure if you got both sets) i was throwing around the idea of keeping the turbo and piping from the ea82t using my wrx tmic and attatching it to the ej22. its gonna be a fun build i already have a rx body kit for it and some old 8 slots. hey do the 8slots fit the ea82 front breaks? SoobGoob
and yes i know its been a while i got an rx for a bit but sold it to my brother. other than that ive just been playing with my 4runner and and got a mk3 gti for commuting
GeneralDisorder
I sold the EJ22T manifolds and up-pipe - though I do have the down-pipe and probably the rest of the exhaust. You can pick up a cheap single-peice header from ebay or something then you could run like 5 psi into the non-turbo EJ22. What do you mean by "8 slots"? Is that a rim style? If they are 4 lug they should fit unless they are EA81 rims then you might have to grind on the caliper's a bit. GD
SoobGoob
i got them off a ea81t coupe at the bone yard a while back. they were going to go on my rx i never checked to see if they fit
SoobGoob
can someone link me to the wheels page? also will the vf11? i think it is. be a good combo with the ej22 or should i just track down a ej turbo. would 5psi make a difference. i want a noticeable difference but not balls to the wall fast. GeneralDisorder
5 psi into a non-turbo EJ22 dyno's about 200 HP. Should be faster than a stock 22T. VF7 is a poor choice - you want a TD04 from a WRX. GD
