Rooster2
Do you have air flow through the vents on the pass side?

nipper
Ok this has me concerned. This is coming up a lot lately on the outback list as well. There have been a couple of fixes: 1- Check to make sure the doors in the HVAC system are all working. If it is actually moving air through the passenger side footwell the door is working. 2-flush the heater core. Flush it repeatedly. No need to flush the entire cooling system. 3- the nuclear option - the heater core is clogged and needs to be replaced. nipper

bheinen74
there might not be a fix. it could be a design flaw problem that cannot be addressed. hope not, but it sure looks that way. keep me updated.
hockeylvr93
it used to work just fine...how could it now be a design flaw??
bheinen74
it used to work just fine...how could it now be a design flaw?? you are right. if it did work okay, then we will find a way to get it back to that. With that many miles, have you had the hvac air filtration filter changed yet. They can get quite bad after that many miles. Mine had 89k on it and it was TERRIBLE/double my parents My parents had 36k on theirs, and it was Bad/nasty
hockeylvr93
do you mean the cabin filter?? we have changed that a few times, it was nothing terrible
nipper
it used to work just fine...how could it now be a design flaw?? if the heater core is made of a reactive material with the coolant ( maybe the supplier changed the spec). It can have narrow passageways that allow it to clog easily. those would be design flaws.
