Subaru_dude
Anybody know of a good source for aftermarket heavy-duty bumpers? I've had so many close calls in my '96 Outback with deer I'd like some protection. I LOVE the bullbars like the ones seen on the Australian boards. The ones on SubaXtreme are pretty much what I want but does anybody know if something like that can be had in the states? Worse comes to worse I'll have one fabbed. Would rather find a manufacturer though... something tells me that won't happen though.
zyewdall
I think the closest thing to a "manufacturer" are a couple of board members on here that make them and sell them. I know a few people showing them off in the off-road thread have said that they'd sell them.

sube101
i can possibly start doing bumpers, in either stainless steel or mild steel .140 wall or .119 wall.
Subaru_dude
i can possibly start doing bumpers, in either stainless steel or mild steel .140 wall or .119 wall. I might be interested. Where is deer island? I'm GUESSING it's somewhere in the NW... Does anybody have any idea if a brush guard off, say, an s-10 would work? Checking Craigslist for custom bumpers in the auto parts section and I'm liking what I see... but will any of it work? Anybody tried this?
sube101
s10 bumpers can work but they have to be modified, they are wider then a sube, and usually the fronts are a different angle. if you find a design you like i can usually copy it and change what needs to be changed. and deer island is in oregon, but im able to ship anywhere in the u.s. I might be interested in buying one for my impreza... I've thought about building it myself, but never seem to have the time. Z
sube101
honestly pricing has to do with mainly material. material cost for me for me is around 6.00 and as for labor it would depend on the bumper design you want, because some bumpers take a very long time, in which case i wouldnt charge hourly, i would find a happy medium, and its all tig welded not wire feed so it would be stronger, if you have a particular design send me a picture. other wise i could do one like what i built for my brat steven
