ettev
Just got an '84 wagon that does not have a sunroof. Found a sedan in one of the local yards that has one in and I'm toying with grabbing it for the wagon. Not too much worried about the headliner work as I am about sealing it and getting it to drain properly. Anyone ever retrofit an EA81 with a factory sunroof setup? How tough, what are the "hiddens", and was it worth it or am I better off leaving a solid roof alone that doesn't leak now?
GeneralDisorder
I've never done it, but I would never attempt it either - not with a "factory" sunroof. The drainage system wouldn't be in place for it in a plain roof car. They do make aftermarket kit's that are designed for installation into plain roof cars though - I would look into that as they are designed to work without the drainage system. Scoobywagon
I wouldn't bother with it. You can transplant the drain system, but it adds on a LOT of work. The aftermarket kits are usually junk. The short version is: Don't bother. At some point, it is GOING to leak. Those leaks are, generally, repairable. But its just another maintenance item to be checked off regularly.
