subaru360
Do you have emissions inspection? An old obd1 EJ22T isn't going to pass. A stock EJ22T doesn't have any more power than a stock 2.5RS. And less torque. IMO not really worth it. Now if you are just going to use the block, and build a nice engine with a big turbo, that's a different story. Is that the one that was for sale on nasioc? I was thinking about getting it. I thought the price was too high.

Now if you are just going to use the block, and build a nice engine with a big turbo, that's a different story. Thats the plan, I hope my block is good. Will need best advice for heads, engine management, etc. Is that the one that was for sale on nasioc? yep I was thinking about getting it. ShawnW
Id get 02 WRX complete engine and wiring harness from a rusty or wrecked one and put the 2.2 shortblock in with all its heads and engine management. Then you can do Access Port or similar, lots of wrx upgrade pieces available, and the wiring isn't terribly hard. I have the diagrams and would do a cutdown harness for you for a reasonable fee. subaru360
WRX heads and harness is a good option with lots of support. You can buy a tactrix cable and download Rom Raider, it's free and better than the accessport. If you have the EJ22T harness, you could use that. Use 96-99 EJ25 dohc heads and get an apexi power fc for an older jdm wrx. It's almost the same wiring as an EJ22T. You have to change a few pins. There's also other plug in options like link, simtek etc that would let you run the turbo engine with the existing harness.
