I use to live to live in Melbourne, but that was 20 years ago. I got my escort stock in the sand. I found out not to drive on loose sand, its 20 times worse than snow, some dude came along in a pick-up & pulled me out. Could have used a subaru then.

Right here! I started a thread a long time ago when we were still on the ezBoard site, asking that very same question

I am probably the ONLY person in Orlando that knows the old Scoobs. I have one other BC-BF Legacy friend here and NO 80's Scoob friends here :(

And since you're in St. Pete, looks like it'll stay that way :(

Hehe, Pierman, if you and brat86 ever think of selling one of your Brats (assuming they're mostly rust-free ;) ), let me know. I could really use a pickup truck, and having a Subaru pickup truck would perfectly complete the collection! :D

So you're the one who takes the old Soob parts from Cophers ;)! I've got an '85 Brat. I live in the New (North) Tampa area right now but I'm moving to Brandon in about a month or so. I've seen a few Brats in St. Pete (yellow and a red one) and just last week saw a blue one over here (it was the first one I had seen while I was driving mine so I actually got a wave. Sadly I'll probably be selling the Brat soon since I need the money to do some stuff to the house I'm buying. I'd be interested in meeting a few others before I sell it though so if any of you guys want to get together somewhere let me know...

Rust free except for one small spot behind the front bumper where it looks like somebody might have hit something small. It looks to just be cosmetic though and could probably easily be sanded down and painted over. It has 153k miles and its about as near to mint condition as I've ever heard of or seen. The guy I bought it from bought it in '87 from the first owner. It spent the first part of its life in Southern California then came down here. He said its always been garaged since he's had it, I usually leave it in mine too. It has a brand new alternator & battery, full exhaust that was replaced less than a year ago and a few other newer parts. Only problems are a DS outer CV joint thats going bad and she leaks a little bit of oil. Drivers seat has the standard little rips but nothing too bad. Dash has one small barely noticeable crack, I always keep a sunshade in it to hopefully preserve it as long as possible. I'll try to post some pictures somewhere soon, I was thinking of trying to put it on E-bay in the next few weeks so I've already got a bunch of pics taken, just need to put them up.

Well, I never did get around to selling my Brat. I wanted to come to the XT meet over in Orlando last month but had some other stuff come up last minute. I'd be game for whatever we can put together for a meet. I know there are at least a few other Soob people around, theres a house in Brandon/Riverview that has at least 2 80's era cars, a wagon and a hatch if I remember correctly. Not sure if thats anyone on here or not. The next couple of weekends are kinda busy for me but after that I'm pretty much free.

Old Subarus don't have pickup, you just crawl along at a snails pace....forever. Tune-up may help. In my case, recondition heads and tune-up did it. I wish I had 5spd cuz slush box automatic robs power...may eventually do 5spd conversion. To me its worth saving a 20 year old Turbo-Charged OHV push rod Subaru...cuz there so rare...that was 10,000 miles ago.
