I have two different intake manifolds off of two different 82 gl wagons.

One with a very short and low profile, the other has a longer and taller shape.

I have a weber carb and I think it came with the lower profile manifold. My question is which of the two induction lengths produces the best bottom end torque, (EA81). Does anyone have any actual performance data that compares the EA81 with a Weber and a Hitachi carb?

there were 2 carbs offered from the factory for ea81. the carter-weber, and the hitachi.

 

the carter weber carbs were single barrel, and has a stud coming up from the carb mount on the intake.

 

the weber modifications are meant for hitachi intakes, as far as the mounting adapters are concerned.
